I am a research scientist, and this year I am taking a year off work to live in the Czech Republic while my partner does his first postdoc in pure mathematics. Right now I'm busy preparing myself for childbirth, learning to speak Czech, and trying to keep writing papers so I don't fall off the academic treadmill.
